Once I have received my login details email, where to from here?
Login. Firstly, go to your profile page.
Here you will have a number of fields to fill out. Please do your best to fill out all the fields; there are a lot, but do try.
Simply by filling out your profile, you instantly join two groups: “Community Member” and one group dependent on where you live in Ecovillage.
This instantly imports all overall community events and gives you access to book assets from the community asset booking system.
The last question asks, “Make profile public”. This means that when you join a group, people will be able to click on your profile, and get a very brief description about you. They will not be able to view more personal details, such as phone numbers or age.
What about all these groups?
The moment you login, you go to a page titled, “My Groups”. From this page, you are given short-cuts to the home pages of all the groups you are subscribed to, and the ability to unsubscribe from any of the groups you are already a member of.
One of the groups you will automatically join is titled “Community Member”. This has all the general events that are occurring around the Ecovillage, and allows you to start voting, discussing, contacting and viewing files and pictures straight away.
You will also join a geographic group (either Creek or Valley Ecohamlets) depending on your physical location nominated in your profile.
Go to the “All Groups” page to see a list of all groups that are available to join and browse.
I have seen an event that I want to attend. How do I get that to come into my personal calendar?
All community wide events will be put on the main calendar by the Events Coordinator. Group coordinators will ask the Events Coordinator to add these to the master Calendar. Group coordinators may also run their own events for Group members. To see those events on your calendar you need to be a member of that specific Group.

How do I join a group?
Go to the Groups Page and click on a link for the group you wish to join. In the right hand navigation there is link “Join”. You then be asked to confirm you join. Select the green button and away you go.
How do I participate in a group?
To begin with, you need to view the group by selecting a link from your “My Groups” page, or by joining a group through the “All Groups” page.
This will take you to that group’s home page, which will have a brief description about the group, and then in the right hand navigation, links to the various functions of that group: Forum, Events, Files, Polls, and Members.
Polls: To vote on a poll go to the bottom of the Group’s home page, and vote as you see fit. To see results, select the “Polls” link and then “View Stats” on that particular page.
Files: Select the right hand navigation item “Files”. This will bring up a small file explorer. Click on the plus icon [+] which is to the left of a folder icon to see what is inside a particular folder. Click on the larger green plus icon to add a new file to that category.
Events: Events are listed on both the Group’s home page, and when you select the “Events” link in the top right hand navigation. Click on an event link to view details. If you are a member of that group, the events will be imported into your personal calendar.
Forum: Select the right hand navigation link labeled “Forum”. This will take you to a landing page that has a button “Start a new discussion”, and - if any have been started previously - a list of existing topics.
To start a new topic, click on the “Start a new discussion” button, then fill in the name and description into the pop-up window.
To participate in any existing topic, simply click on the title of the forum to go to the commenting section. Feel free to read various posts, and when ready, simply post a comment in the text field. You can edit your posts whenever you like, and a little note informing others of when you edited your post publishes.
Members: Here you can click on members who have made their profile public to check basic details about that person.
Why can’t I send an email to everyone, or post events in my group?
Only group moderators have this ability. If you feel you use the group enough to be a moderator, simply get in contact with the group administrator (they will have the word “Administrator” next to their name in the group’s members list).
How do I email all other Ecovillage Members?
If your email is specific in nature, consider emailing it to individuals, or a specific group, then login to the VillageHub, go to "Groups", then select EMAIL ENTIRE GROUP (see the Mail Icon near the top right)
If your email is important and specific, you can email it to allmembers@lists.villagehub.com.au Please note that this email list may be moderated, meaning your message will be checked before it is sent out to all members (to ensure is it worthy of sending to all members, and high quality). This helps to reduce SPAM to members and keep the general emails important.
How do I email all other Ecovillage Members?
If your email is important and specific, you can email it to allmembers@lists.villagehub.com.au. Alternatively, you can learn how to send an email to all members of a specific group by clicking here.
Under my Profile - What does “Make my profile available to the Ecovillage Community” mean?
Ticking this box enables other community members to see more of your profile ie. Your email address, current address, phone numbers, interests and Latest News, but that's all. We request all member to tick the box as it allows people in the community to get to know one another. People who are not members will not ber able to see your profile.
How do I view everyone’s member profile?
Log in and go to: Contact – View All Member Profiles
How do I view the full Ecovillage Contact List?
Go to: Contacts and select View BC and full Ecovillage contacts list
The first contact list you see by default is the public version only.
How do I update my Profile?
Log in and go to Profile, then update your details and select UPDATE in the bottom right.
How do I email people who are a member of one VillageHub Group?
Log in and go to Groups, then select EMAIL ENTIRE GROUP (see the Mail Icon near the top right)
How do I email people who are a member of one VillageHub Group, from my home email?
Find out the email group list name. (To do this Log in and go to the Group, select EMAIL ENTIRE GROUP and then note down the List Address eg. eve@lists.villagehub.com.au for the EVE Group). Then from your home email, send an email to the List Name eg. eve@lists.villagehub.com.au
Note that you will only be able to email the Group if you are a member of the Group. Note that some Groups are moderated eg. AllMembers – to ensure emails are focused, well directed and to reduce Spam.
How do I book the community hall or an asset?
Go to Profile, then select “Community Assets Booking System”
Select the asset you are interested in renting
Click on a date and time period you wish to start the booking on.
A screen will open and allow you to Create a Booking. Select Save
If the time period is red, the asset is already booked out. You can click on the red section and a screen will open telling you who has booked the asset during that time.
How do I add a new asset that I wish to share?
Email the details to the Asset Manager: assets@villagehub.com.au and they will load it onto the site within 1-3 days.
How do I change my email address in my Profile?
Email support@villagehub.com.au with the details of your request and they will manually update it for you. This may take 1-4 days.
